New Benefit Roller Lash Mascara!!!

Have ya'll heard all the buzz surrounding this new mascara by Benefit that just released?
I have, Benefit is really good at putting little bits of their new products out into the makeup universe and hyping them up and this mascara was no exception.  I grabbed mine online on February 18, 2015 when Ulta.com had a 2 day platinum exclusive and offered the full size mascara plus free shipping.  It officially launched on February 27, 2015.

I know quite a few people got deluxe size samples to try out and there has been mixed reviews on it.  Some people love it and others can't stand, I personally at this moment as I write this post haven't tried it yet, for shame right, I know.  I plan on doing a YouTube video on it so I didn't want to open it until then
.
But none the less, I still wanted to get on here and write some info about it and post a few pics.

OMG!! Can I please just say Big ups to Benefit for always having cute ass packaging!

AWW!! I can not get over the packaging, first off it's pink and black.
The lid is a retro pink hair curler, tots adorbs!!!

It is described as a super curling and lifting mascara.
It's suppose to visibly lift lashes.
Give long lasting curl.
Make the eyes look more open.

Has A Hook 'N' Roll Brush that has a patent-pending hook design, catches, lifts and curls.
A "roller for lashes" they say, it is suppose to grab, separate, lift and curl your lashes, while the curve- setting formula of the mascara is suppose to hold for 12 hours.

Anyways, they're basically making the claim that you don't need an eyelash curler with this mascara, which let me tell ya, being a mama to 3 little girls, simple makeup with as few steps as possible is right up my alley.  So I have very high hopes for this mascara.
I have read through a few comments people have posted and it's very back and forth.  Some love it, it's wonderful, the greatest mascara, others however, not so much.  They it's clumpy, not good at all, not worth the hype.

It does retail for $24.00 so if that's a little steep for you as far as mascaras go, you might be hesitant in taking the plunge.  But hey if you try and you don't like it, keep your receipt and return it.

I'm super excited to try it and do a YouTube video about it, so stay tuned for that!!!
Stay Beautiful ya'll

XOXO

My Fav Skin Care Products!!

So yesterday I found myself at Ulta, surprise surprise. In search of face wash because I was out and in desperate need of some.  I'm usually content with sticking to drug store skin care, because it hasn't done me wrong and it works fantastic for my skin, but yesterday I decided  to venture over to the high end skin care and I bought some. Gasp! I know.  So stay tuned for a blog post review of the high end skin care set I purchased.

Anyways back on track, my fav skin care products, well most of them do happen to come from the drug store.  Which makes everyone happy, because it works (for me) and you don't have to sell one of your children to afford it.  Seriously, some of the high end stuff is crazy, ridiculously expensive.

Now on to my list of favs!!!

Neutrogena makeup removing cleansing face towelettes
Equate night time soothing makeup removing towelettes
Maybelline New York Clean Express Water Proof Eye Makeup Remover
Clean&Clear Night Relaxing Deep Cleansing Face Wash
Clean&Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser
Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser
Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power Cream Cleanser
Mary Kay Timewise 3 in 1 cleanser
Mary Kay Timewise Age Fighting Moisturizer
Bamboo Spa Youthful Radiance Spa Treatment Face Masks
Lancôme Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate
GlamGlow
Equate Clarifying Toner
Clean&Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer
Tarte Maracuja Oil
Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater

Love both of these brands of towelettes, I go back and forth between the 2

This cleanser is new, and is nice.  It has little micro beads in it that feel really nice on the skin and it smells good too.

This is my Holy Grail eye makeup remover! I love it and I will always repurchase it.  I know there's one that is more of a lotion consistency, I do not like that one at all.  I have to have the full liquid solution one.  It doesn't irritate my eyes and rinses off clean. It's Awesome!!! Highly recommend!

This is a really nice natural face wash, hence the name.  I used this during my last pregnancy.  It got my skin really clean without all the chemicals and other maybe harsh stuff in regular face washes.  So if your prego and need a good face wash, check this one out.

This face wash is great for obviously stress break outs.  It helps with redness and doesn't dry your skin out.  Great for hormonal break outs too.

I got both of these products from a friend as a gift and I was really pleasantly surprised.  I had heard mixed reviews about Mary Kay skin care but this cleanser and moisturizer were really great.  My skin felt really clean and super soft and smooth after using them.

I only had a sample of this, and I've never tried any other Lancôme products.  But this serum was good and made my skin feel nice, didn't irritate my skin.

Glamglow, what can I say about it that hasn't already been said, it's amazeballs.  Sent from the skin Gods themselves and for the price of just one jar you do get amazing results.  I don't like the youthmud which has the black label as much as the other 2.  It seems the most harsh out of the 3.  But it does work, I just don't enjoy it as much.  I got a gift set of all 3 for Christmas, but I do believe they retail for $69 dollars for 1.7 fl oz but there are a few sites where you can get them for about $40 and you can get the 0.5 fl oz size at Sephora for $19.  In my opinion I prefer the thirstymud (blue) and the supermud (white).

I got these masks in a 4 pack at TJ Maxx and they were wonderful and lets be real they were cheap, which is hella awesome!!  My skin felt so smooth and soft and refreshed after using them.  I would one about once a week.  Would and will definitely buy again.

I'm still using this toner and really like it.  Its compared to the Clinque brand toner for  dry to combo skin.  I have dry to normal skin and my skin never feel dry or tight after using this.  The smell is very light and the amount you get for the price is really good, I believe its $7-9 dollars for 13.5 fl oz.  Its a decent sized bottle.

This oil is really nice especially if your like me and have dry skin, it does take a little bit for it to fully sink into your skin, but it feels so nice and lasts till morning.  I also put it under my eyes because that is one of the places on my face that can get very dry.  This does a really nice job keeping skin hydrated.

This is a really great drug store gel moisturizer, melts into skin very nicely, its light on the skin, smells fresh, is cooling.  I just can't say enough good things about it.  Plus its like $5 bucks, what!!!!

This stuff I bought on a whim.  I saw it and remember watching a you tube video about it that +Melissa Autry aka @Melmphs  did on her channel about makeup setting sprays.  It doesn't really set your makeup, but it is a great refreshing face mist.  Especially if its hot out or right after your wash your face at night or right before you go to bed.  It feels nice on your skin and smells lovely.  It also helps calm redness in you skin too.

There you have it, my fav skin care products at the moment.  Like I said up top I have purchased some new skin care that I am trying out and will be bringing you a review about it in the next few weeks.  So be on the look out for that.
Until next time, Stay beautiful ya'll!

Love

Roasted Garlic Parmesan Chicken Lasagna

I make lasagna quite a bit for my family. Mainly because its easy and I can freeze it if I want, which I'm all for.  My kids will eat it and so will the hubs without complaint, but let me tell ya'll a secret............I'm not a big fan of classic lasagna.  Or any pasta that has red sauce for that matter, sorry I'm not sorry, I've just never really liked it.
Now pasta with white sauce and chicken, I am alllllll over that situation. So of course wouldn't know while I was cruising pinterest I came across a lasagna recipe with white sauce and chicken, so I took a look at it, made my own modifications to it and now I'm bringing it to ya'll.  I hope you guys enjoy it.

Roasted Garlic Parmesan Chicken Lasagna

Ingredients
2 lbs Ground chicken
2 Jars white pasta sauce( I used Prego)
Lasagna noodles (I used oven ready noodles)
15 oz Ricotta cheese
1 Tbs Italian seasoning
1 Egg
1-2 tsp Minced garlic
2 cups Asiago cheese, shredded
2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
Brown chicken in a large skillet, add salt and pepper to taste if you like and add the minced garlic and let it all cook together.

When the chicken is almost browned mix together the Ricotta cheese, Egg and Italian seasoning and set it aside.

Once the Chicken is browned add the white pasta sauce to the chicken, enough to coat it.

.

After that, add all your cheeses to a bowl and mix them together.

In a greased 9x13 Lasagna pan or whatever pan you like, add a layer of white pasta sauce to the bottom of the pan.  Then add a layer of noodles, add about 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture and cover noodles with it, add 1/3 of the chicken, 1/3 white sauce and top with 1/4 of the cheese mixture.
Repeat: Pasta, ricotta cheese mixture, ground chicken, white sauce and cheese. Should be able to get 3 layers.
On top of last layer cover with the rest of the cheese.
I baked mine for 35 minutes, checked it and baked it for another 15 mins.  That was using oven ready lasagna noodles.  (If you use regular noodles and cook them before assembling lasagna you will only need to cook lasagna for about 30 mins).

Allow to cool 10-15 minutes, and then dig in!!!!

*If you would like to make and freeze this, you should be able too. To cook after you freeze it, Let it thaw over night and bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour, checking it so it does not burn.

Xoxo

Fifty Shades Of Uninformed

Hot topic here right, with the release of the F.S.O.G. movie dropping February 13, 2015; just in time for Valentine's Day. I've seen an increasing number of blog posts from everyone and their moms chiming in on the subject.  I've read everything from blogs singing it's praises, expressing nothing but good things for F.S.O.G. People fan-girling for it hard x1000.  Then there are a lot of other blogs condemning it as disrespectful, abusive, sex condoning, relationship hurting; and lust filled porn.
Color me slightly annoyed, As I was reading some of these blogs I found myself mentally screaming "Oh just shut up!." "Really?," "Seriously?". Then in swoops reason reminding me they are entitled to their opinions, just as I am entitled to mine.
Ding! Good ole reason saves me from an anger fueled rant posted to the internet for everyone to see and run a muck with it.  So, I took a step back and gathered my thoughts on the topic. Grab a glass of wine or vodka, and settle in whilst I oblige you with my thoughts.

First things first..

In 2011, when F.S.O.G. hit stores; I was not one of the millions who ran out and bought the book.  Nor did I buy it when it was "all the rage" and every woman was losing their minds over it. That point in time it was a book, and I kinda didn't like to read.
Flash forward to Christmas 2012.  I received the first book in the F.S.O.G. trilogy as a gift from my husband (gasp).  I read it, bought the next book, read it; and got the final book on my kindle fire and read it. For the record, I have read The Twilight Saga and the Hunger Games series, and a few of Sylvia Day's books; but that's it.  I have never been big on reading. So please don't take this as a review, because it's not. As for the story, I really liked it, really got engrossed in it;  the writing itself however was crap.
Then of course someone had to capitalize on all of the hype. Thus begins talk of a movie, which got everyone buzzing. Then the movie was confirmed and everyone lost their minds all over again. Que all the righteous folks, coming out of the wood works and doing what they do best; criticize.

Take a guess......

What was the biggest criticism about?  Sex; of course, it's a no brainer right? The books as well as the movie fully condones sex.  It's true it does and there's no way to deny it. But sex of some sort is in vast numbers of other books and movies. The story is extremely disrespectful and abusive they write.  Ok; I'm just going to humor myself a minute. A wealthy business man meets a young woman and they enter into an agreement. Thus an array of events unfold, and the majority of which involves sexual activities. In that logic; then let's throw the movie Pretty Woman in right a long with F.S.O.G.  Maybe not written word for word, but they are both very similar, I'm sorry that I don't understand how one is abusive and degrading and the other is a classic romantic love story?  Pretty Woman is allowed to be defended but F.S.O.G. isn't because it contains more taboo's and sex.  Seriously?
Yes, sex is heavily involved in the story of F.S.O.G. and because of that people are stating it's affecting the readers heart..... thus effecting their marriages. Excuse my chuckling, and please allow my retort.  I can't help but think that if you are letting a trilogy of books containing fictional characters mess with your marriage dynamic; maybe you shouldn't be married in the first place.  I get losing yourself in a book, especially if the story is good.  It's fantasy while using your imagination. but in the end still just a story.
Did the divorce rate sky rocket when people realized they weren't married to a sparkly vampire or beefed up werewolf?  Were you let let down to find out your spouse didn't attend Hogwarts or win the Hunger Games; or weren't secretly insurgents? No!, because it isn't real at all; It's just made up and possibly fictional.  Yet, it's being knocked; solely based on people questionably not ready for or confident in their marriages; further blurring the line between fantasy and reality.

What infuriates me the most though.......

Is the fact that a good number of the people voicing their views and commenting on the subject haven't even read the series; or haven't read the first book. Some not even reading half of the first book. They are the ones making the most noise, and openly conforming they have not nor do not intend on reading the books. Then taking it upon themselves to let the rest of us know how terrible the book is, and how abusive and degrading towards women it is and they want to boycott it.  Blah! Blah! Blah!
You are sounding off on something that you know nothing about. Jumping on the let's hate F.S.O.G. wagon because we have nothing better to do. If you haven't actually read the books then how can you have an informed opinion about them?  You can't, but that doesn't stop you from running your mouths about it. So I'm gonna call it like I see it. You're all biased; plain and simple. You fear what you don't understand and in turn attack it unjustly. You are unfairly prejudiced towards F.S.O.G.
As for the group of people defending the trilogy and movie. Those of us posting conflicting opinions, we're all a bunch of perverted, overly sexed, sinners; that hate our marriages. Who don't think our spouses are good enough the way they are.
My response to all that nonsense. First, we're all sinners, no escaping that. Second, labeling someone for not sharing the same views as you on sex or any subject for that matter is incredibly ignorant.  Every single person is different; some talk about sex openly and are comfortable with it. While others think it should be kept private. Some like playing it safe and plain old vanilla. Others like a little rule breaking and mixing it up. It all comes down to each person's perception and interpretation of things. Some are different and so is their character; and integrity. The authors work shouldn't be judged or criticized because of it. Especially, when those doing it are unjust previously in doing so.
I know posting something like this might be seen as controversial and individuals may feel the need to go out of their way to tear me down or make rude comments towards me for not sharing the same views as them. So be it; I'm sorry you feel the need to reprimand me. But the fact remains; I don't need reprimanding, All that I ask is you respect my opinion and views. You don't have to like it or even agree with it; just respect it.  I did not set out to purposely offend anyone with this post.  Just wanted to put down my thoughts and views on the topic of F.S.O.G..
The bottom line is; if a book tells a good story I'm probably going to read it. Regardless of the negativity surrounding it. Same goes for a movie associated with a book.  So yes, you can bet your ass I will be seeing F.S.O.G. in theaters when it debuts Feb 13. 2015 and I'm gonna love every minute of it. Hopefully......

xoxo
